Cocciolo 2018 of the Cantine Soloperto, stage 4 of the trip in the Apulian rosés

Cocciolo 2018, is a rosé from Cantine Soloperto of which I had already reviewed the Primitivo "Patriarca 2014" https://www.selfwines.it/it/blog/patriarca-2014-di-cantina-soloperto-la-storia-vinicola-salentina-in-bottiglia-n20. It is made from only Negroamaro grapes harvested in mid-September from vineyards between 20 and 25 years of age. About 10,000 bottles are produced per year. Vinification and aging in stainless steel ensure that the wine does not have "contamination" from materials used in these passages, thus keeping the aromatic component of the product intact. It has a coral pink color, the nose with hints of fresh yellow-fleshed fruit and well-marked red fruits but elegantly, on the palate it is citrusy, fresh and balanced. Excellent not only for the classic spring / summer aperitif but especially with shellfish, white meats with simple and light preparations and mixed summer salads.
