Speziale 2018, the rosé Salentino Masseria Trullo di Pezza.

As I have already told you before, when I told you about their Primitivo, Masseria Trullo di Pezza is located in Torricella, in the province of Taranto and is a brand born in 2012. (I leave you the article: ) It is a company of about 100 hectares that operates following the organic trappings. Today I tell you about another of their wines that I tasted, Speziale 2018, Rosato Salento PGI. It is a rosé obtained from Negroamaro grapes in purity, which are harvested by manual harvest in mid-September.  The vinification is done in stainless steel at controlled temperature, the must is left for about 12/15 hours in contact with the skins and then it is aged in steel for about 4 months and in the bottle for a month before being put on the market. Visually it appears bright orange tending towards coral. On the olfactory level, it is quite complex and intense, rich in fruity hints such as strawberries, black cherry, pomegranate and hints such as dog rose (which stands out a lot). While tastefully stands out a beautiful acidity, freshness and flavor. Sensory notes that blend together in a fine, elegant and balanced way. An excellent wine to be enjoyed at a temperature of around 10 degrees. An excellent aperitif wine but also to be paired with pizza, cold cuts and fresh cheeses or even with a fish soup, roasted fish or even with chicken escalopes with mushrooms. Here I leave the link of the previous introductory article on rosé winemaking and the link to the shop to buy this wine. ⬇️
